day to day jackdaw

another blog??

I have links to other websites that I manage, and either of those could be perfectly good spaces for low-effort, day-to-day posts about what I do and how I've spent my time. But I compartmentalize aspects of my life, and the reality is that the vibe of those sites is all wrong for what I'd like to use this setting for. My WordPress site is intended for more professional work, as it's where I post links to my published writing, and my neocities site is intended to display more experimental art and writing of a particular vibe. (It's a little more vulnerable, I suppose!)

The site I previously used for day-to-day postings was cohost, which has unfortunately shut down. Tumblr is too dramatic, I don't use micro-blogging social media like bluesky or twitter, and facebook is facebook.

Bearblog seems like a good space for stuff that doesn't require as much effort/"is this appropriate for my professional side"-type work, or as much tedium as creating a post for my neocities site in terms of typing out HTML and such. And so far, I'm loving this minimalist approach to blogging - it feels more akin to journaling with how straightforward the site's design is.

I'm unsure how much I'll update this, since I'm in the final semester of my master's program. (Also, just typing that out absolutely peaked my anxiety for a hot second!) I'll definitely try to add stuff with some regularity.
